The Senior Accountant is responsible for supporting the Controller in preparing, reviewing, and distributing all financial reports in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and HonorBuilt standard operating procedures. The ideal candidate will bring advanced accounting knowledge, exceptional attention to detail, and strong analytical skills to support decision-making processes.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Oversee the bi-weekly payroll process
  • Oversee weekly billing process
  • Support collections efforts and manage credit insurance filings
  • Review, analyze and identify accounting transactions that should be accrued for in the ERP
  • Oversee payables, reimbursable travel, and credit card reconciliations
  • Oversee sales tax calculations and remittance
  • Reconcile assigned monthly balance sheet and bank account reconciliations
  • Maintain/update prepaid and fixed asset schedule and make corresponding entries
  • Timely monthly close of the financial statements
  • Effective communication with the Controller on P&L status and bank reporting
  • Crosstrain in all aspects of accounting department
  • Assist in external audits as needed
  • Other projects as assigned by controller

Education/Training:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university with a degree in business required, preferably in finance or accounting or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3 years related experience

Preferred:

  • 4+ years progressive accounting experience
  • Experience supervising and/or reviewing others’ work
  • Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks Desktop
  • Experience with ERP system migrations
